Thirteen-year-old Danny Duplas is tired of being just a normal kid. Armed with a metric “ship ton” of dust-covered Hardy Boys books and a signboard in his dad’s driveway, he rebrands himself as “Danny Chance, the boy detective with the freaky good luck.” From a Swiss Army knife buried in a box of Super Mario cereal to a whirlwind encounter with national media icon “Ask Marilyn” vos Savant, Danny outsmarts local delinquents in a bid to earn his cynical cop father’s respect.
