This week, our story is going to center around what could have been... Nostalgia-powered imagination. I guess the clinical term in anxiety? I know I have it. It's got a lot better in recent years, but I'm known in both personal and professional circles as an overthinker. That can be a good thing. Overthinking mistakes before and/or after I make them helps me make less of them. Ruminating on things also helps me come up with fresh stories and plots for this very comic strip.

I've also been known to look at myself in a mirror like Mr. Matheson does in today's strip when I'm having intense feelings. Am I too drunk? Does she really like me? Can I do this thing I'm about to go do? My eyes don't lie, even to me.

Mr. Matheson is going to get plenty of chances to play "What if...?" this week, with a little help from some characters we haven't seen yet this year. This week's story is pretty ambitious, but above all else, each comic is going to be pretty weird. Hope you love it.
