“Glitch at Cornerstone Theater” – Mr. Matheson’s Arithme-TIPS for December 4, 2024

Nosloo holds a very special place in my heart, in part because he's based on one of my favorite childhood shows, Alf.

ALF, aka Gordon Shumway

I've always been a big fan of "we've got a secret" sitcoms like Alf, Bewitched, Harry and the Henderson, Small Wonder, and a dozen others. In fact, I wrote an audio essay about them as part of my old podcast Weird TV.

Nothing unites people like a secret, especially when that secret concerns somebody (or some alien from Melmac) the characters.audience care about. These are stories about doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. As somebody who has always kept his hopes and fears pretty close to his chest befire ti protect the ones he loves, I enjoy seeing the idea of righteous dishonesty played out in fictional spaces.

Come back tomorrow to see if Nosloo the Great remains a secret, or if Mr. Matheson will finally confront the Phantom of the Theater.

Latch on to learning!
